FACT: India is home to the largest blind population in the world. Of the 37 million blind people of the world, 15 million are in India. Due to a shortage of resources, skilled medical providers and organized efforts, sadly, most of these cases are go untreated and the quality of life of the people affected is greatly compromised.

There are very few establishments in India that are dedicated to providing care and instruction and are accessible to those that require it.

VEF’s main source of funding comes from the professional incomes of The Shinde family members. The costs of operating an organization such as this, and purchasing supplies and equipment are increasing with the number of students. VEF’s mission of providing lifelong learning and a state of the art support system cannot be fulfilled without securing additional financial resources.
